2014 Year in Review

2014 was a landmark year for the NBA, we attended our first NHC as a club, filled barrels 7 times and served beer to the general public for the first time at the Big River Brewfest and the Harvest Gala. Below are some of the highlights from 2014.2014

Education and Experimentation
We conducted our 4th annual Single Hop Experiment again this year.

We also started our Mini Experiment program to allow members to explore more areas of brewing and fit them into out regular meeting agenda.

NBA Barrel Projects
#1 – This is our award winning, highly coveted golden sour beer. We affectionately call it H.O.B.O. (Honey Oak Barrel One).We emptied 1.1 and refilled it again with 1.2. Check out the details here.
#2 – Project 2 is our collection of French oak red wine barrels from California. View this year’s progress here.
#3 – Project 3 is our only clean barrel at this point. We emptied and filled it twice there year. More info here.

Nation Homebrew Conference
The NBA attended our first NHC in 2014, we presented an awesome education poster on our barrel program and served 12 beers, 10 of them barrel beers, during social hours. Check out this post to see more about this awesome adventure.

NBA in the community
We love getting our in the community to educate, interact and general converse with people who are interested in who we are and what we do. We have met a lots of great people at these events and some have become members! Click the links below to learn more about each.
